Hueco mundo

Description:

Two environments so different, yet so similar.
They share an extreme purity, sometimes fierce.
The emptiness sharpens all the senses.

Hueco mundo, or empty world. This is the meaning of the title, as well as the best representation of the contents of this work and the motivations that led me to its conception and creation. Emptiness as the object and at the same time the reason for the research, as the ultimate goal. As a destination and authentic care. The images in this volume came about as a result of an inner, before professional, need. An introspective journey and The first step in a healing process, a journey that goes beyond mere exercise in style or mere photographic research.

This first story arc, will take you on a discovery of two diametrically opposed, yet strikingly similar desert environments. Blue and gold are the two colors I “felt” most intensely in these places. The shades that best represent their differences and similarities. You will be amazed to discover how ephemeral the boundary between the two worlds sometimes is, so much so that you can almost confuse them.

“Created at the height of the pandemic, Marco Ronconi’s “Hueco mundo” is a mesmerizing look at some of the most fragile places on this planet, as well as an opportunity for a stimulating introspective journey. His work forces us to see how vulnerable and interconnected our world is and shares an extraordinary message about how important it is for the survival of our very souls to stay in touch with the wilderness. His breathtaking images show us how inspiration often comes from moments of discomfort and that there is never a true “void.”
